Club license sought for 9 Stoke Newington Road

April 2, 2013

An application has been received to vary existing premises licence to extend hours for supply of alcohol to 03:30 Fri and Sat, allow live music from 23:00 to 03:00 Fri and Sat, amend hours for recorded music to 09:00 to 02:00 Sun to Thurs and 09:00 to 04:00 Fri and Sat and extend hours for the provision of late night refreshment to 02:00 Sun to Thurs and to 04:00 Fri and Sat. Application also seeks to extend licensable activities into the basement. The applicants are calling the premises, somewhat misleadingly, the ‘Istanbul Supermarket’.

If granted, this would add yet another club to a strip which is already over-supplied with clubs, bars and licensed cafes and restaurant and uld add to the cumulative impact.

If you want to object, email licensing@hackney.gov.uk with the name of the premises and/or its address in the subject line of your email. The deadline is 17/04/2013

Your objection is most likely to be taken seriously if it directly addresses the objectives of Hackney’s Licensing Policy. The four main objectives of the policy are:

• Prevention of crime and disorder
• Public safety
• Prevention of public nuisance
• Protection of children from harm.
