Club license sought for 85 Kingsland High Street

December 17, 2014

An application has been made for a club license for 85 Kingsland High Street, in the basement below the Enjoy Cafe.

The applicants have applied for ‘a premises licence for plays, recorded music, performance of dance, anything of similar description and supply of alcohol from 12:00 to 02:00am Mon to Sun, live music from 22:00 to 02:00am Fri to Sun and late night refreshment from 23:00 to 02:00am Mon to Sun.’

These premises are close to two other clubs – the Alibi and the Dance Tunnel – which already attract large crowds. Indeed, it is at the heart of the Dalston Special Policy Area (SPA) recognised by Hackney Council and the Metropolitan police as being adversely affected by late-night noise and antisocial behaviour.

If you wish to object to this application, write to licensing@hackney.gov.uk with the address of the premises in the subject line. The deadline is January 11th, 2015.

Your objection is most likely to be taken seriously if it directly addresses the objectives of Hackney’s Licensing Policy. The four main objectives of the policy are:

• Prevention of crime and disorder
• Public safety
• Prevention of public nuisance
• Protection of children from harm.
