Calling all social housing tenants in Hackney

August 21, 2015

Duncan Pickstock and Colin O’Toole are making a film, commissioned by Mill.Co productions, about the last fifty years of social housing in Hackney.

They say ‘We want to tell the story through listening to the experiences of the residents; the good things and the bad things. We want to paint a picture of the borough through the eyes of those who know it best; the people who live there.  We also want to address the question of what the future is for social housing in the borough and explore the tensions created by the changes to the demographic over the last five or so years…changes that are gathering pace by the week.’
Hackney Tenants – maybe residents of long-standing or recent arrivals, who might be willing to have a chat for an hour to share their thoughts are urged to contact the film-makers by emailing them here

The film will be premiered at the Hackney Picture House on October 22nd.

The past and future of social housing in Hackney. This could be of interest to many people on Shellgrove Estate, especially those who have lived here a long time.
