Next door to Efes Snooker Club – yet another alcohol license sought
An application has been made for a ‘variation of premises licence to allow supply of
alcohol for on sales from 08:00 to 00:00 Sun to Wed and from 08:00 to 01:30am Thurs to Sat and to allow supply of alcohol for off sales from 08:00 to 23:00 Mon to Sun’ at 11 Stoke Newington Road.
These premises, currently occupied by Galaxy Telecoms, are right next door to the Efes Snooker Club which has been involved in longstanding wrangles over the conditions attached to its license following the revokation of its late-night license in February 2013 (on several grounds, including poor management of the premises leading to breaches of condition, resulting in public nuisance).
Local residents experience high levels of noise and anti-social behaviour and may question the need for yet another source of alcohol (including both on and off sales) late at night in the area.
If you wish to object to this application, write to firstname.lastname@example.org with the address of the premises in the subject line.
Your objection is most likely to be taken seriously if it directly addresses the objectives of Hackney’s Licensing Policy. The four main objectives of the policy are:
• Prevention of crime and disorder
• Public safety
• Prevention of public nuisance
• Protection of children from harm.
The deadline for objections is August 11th, 2016.
